I have lived in Daventry for almost all my life, attending St James, the Abbey and Daventry School (which is now Parker e-Act). I have always been involved with the local community, and care a great deal about the development of the Town. I was a school governor for many years, and used to co-run one of the Junior Football teams of Drayton Grange.

To become an instructor I had to go through a series of tests similar to those that you have to do in order to pass your test. I qualified in January 2003.

1) We have to pass a theory test that consists of 100 questions, we must secure a pass of 85/100.

2) Then we take another driving test, very similar to the learner test but longer in duration and we are only allowed 6 minors.

3) Finally we are tested on our instructional ability, this is a 1 hour test conducted by a Senior Examiner. The criteria for this is very strict and the pass rate for this part is quite low. A trainee instructor is someone who has done the first two parts but has yet to pass the final qualifying exam.
